UPDATE: The kayak rack is full, and submissions have been closed. A second rack may be added in the near future. Any requests we have already received who did not get a space will be contacted if a second rack is placed.
Thank you for your interest in kayak storage! The Town currently has one rack available for kayak storage on the Van Dyke Bay Beach. Please read the following information. If you'd like to store your kayak for the year, complete and submit the form below. We will be in touch with you after your request is received. Submission of this form does not guarantee a slot on the kayak rack. Please do not place any kayaks on the rack without confirmation from the town.
Kayak racks are located on the Van Dyke Bay Beach, behind the Hyatt Hotel.
Delaware law requires you have both a whistle and PFD (personal flotation device) on board while using your kayak. The storage racks have holes drilled for you to secure your kayak with a cable. The Town is not responsible for stolen or damaged kayaks, paddles, PFDs or other items.
The cost to store your kayak is $100 for one year, beginning May 1st and ending April 30th. After your request is received, we will ensure there is space available for your kayak. If a slot is open, we will send a link for a payment form, and let you know your assigned slot number. Only one kayak (or paddleboard) may be placed in each slot.
It is imperative that the kayak racks stay organized and clean. The racks are for storage of kayaks/paddleboards only. You are responsible for the maintenance of your kayak and storage space. If you notice damage to the rack, please notify the Town immediately at (302) 227-6363.
