The Town of Dewey Beach was recently notified by the State of Delaware about an incident involving a possible oil spill in the Delaware Bay and Atlantic Ocean. There is currently little verifiable information as to the source. Dewey Beach does have coagulated tar balls on the beach. DNREC has been notified and will work on cleaning the beach along with the other coastal towns. As of now our beach will be closed until further notice. DNREC has a Public Hotline number if you have any information regarding the spill. The number is 1-800-662-8802.
We will keep you updated.
