New Accommodations Tax Legislation Passed

On April 25, 2025, the Town Council voted to approve new legislation regarding accommodations tax remittance. This ordinance came about after multiple property owners reported difficulties with third party listing sites collecting the 3% accommodations tax on their behalf.

The new ordinance does two things:

- Defines "accommodations intermediary"

- Requires these intermediaries to collect and remit the accommodations tax on behalf of the property owner, unless the owner requests to submit the tax on their own.

A copy of this ordinance has been submitted to third party listing sites to notify them of the change. If any property owners continue to have difficulty with any third party listing site collecting the accommodations tax, you may send a copy of the ordinance to your customer service representative with the listing site, or, contact Town Hall. We will assist wherever possible.
